this was one intent that i forgot to mention in the to-do list I shared several months ago. i crossed off two of those three items: setting up a site-wide search page and bringing back the uncapitalized bot to let you know about the (incredibly infrequent) email update list. i have also been working on a template for those emails and hope to get in the habit of sending out seasonal highlights.

there will be a couple of mine in there somewhere!

  • the photo archives now include smaller thumbnails.

  • there is also a tag cloud page that will probably be more interesting as time goes on.

  • the booklog search will now see the author fields again.

  • clicking on an author’s name will take you to their name on the author page.

there are still several small things on my list, like

  • a site-wide search page

  • a page for the currently unmentioned email list

  • seeing if i can add quick pop-up links to the header

and probably other stuffs too.

i’m not planning on updating to movable type 4 until all the plug-ins get updated.

there are a few developments still to come in the next few months…

]]> comments]]> http://www.uncapitalized.net/news/2007/07/finished_yet_quiet/ http://www.uncapitalized.net/news/2007/07/finished_yet_quiet/ books, reading Fri, 27 Jul 2007 09:21:38 -0800 new design in progress i’ve been working on this design for uncapitalized over the last month or so. the other day—addled by the heat, surely—i accidentally deleted the booklog archives, thinking i was in the temporary folder not the actual, real, on-the-public-site folder. since i am close to finishing up the rest of the necessary templates to go live anyhow, and the booklog is the only part of the site that has been active the last few years… i loaded up the design there.

if you’ve found this, you’ve already been poking around. it will probably be obvious where work is yet to be done.
