Hardboiled Wonderland and the End of the World

I love novels with multilinear narratives that reinforce each other as they develop. As well as novels that include maps in the beginning (and it’s a very attractive map). The melancholy moments of being outside of the regular world seemed especially insightful. This might be my favorite Murakami book, it’s possible.

On my way to my 2005 goal.

I just stumbled upon this site and I love it, especially as I’m doing something semi-similar as my New Year’s Resolution.

The last book I read was also by Murakami, Kafka On The Shore. He uses the same narrative technique in that one as well. He’s really skilled at it, and makes it much more believable than some other novelist I’ve read where it seems TOO contrived.
