there's a thick blanket of gray clouds hanging over where the blue sky should be, and i am the only one on the swings. they are the only part of the playground that hasn't changed since i went to school here, outside of the small jungle gym (the large one that was mostly triangles is gone) and an object that i can't describe well. i would take a picture except that it's an aged white and hence gray and hence not much of a contrast from the sky. i have a new camera, and i'm not sure how it's working for me quite yet.

i have a story about the old playscape, the one a classmate's father designed & everyone built.. it was a deathtrap for kids, really. but it had charm. all wooden and named the "play escape." the new one is all primary colors and metal/plastic and not named at all. generic playscape. the story needs work though, mostly to cover up how much i've forgotten in terms of details. it involves rocks and slides and a group of renegade girl scouts.
